Why not? [10 Jun 2008|09:09pm]
…I might as well make an update.
So, what’s been going on with me? I don’t think I’m qualified to answer that, so I’ll just tell you what I’ve been doing.
For the past year and a half or so, I’ve been working on elevators. And yes, I’ve heard all the jokes:
Guy1: So how’s the elevator business?
Guy2: Eh, it has it’s ups and downs.
Guys1&2: hahahaha
Me: *gunshots*

Anyways, the job is not a bad gig. I’m all over the city, Westchester and Jersey. If nothing else, I’ve learned how to get anywhere.
November through January, I took an EMT class, which was interesting. I think I’ll start doing that soon, depending on how long it’ll take to get.

I’ve embarked on a quest to start my own computer company. So far, I’ve just been doing freelance repairs for friends and friends-of-friends. I’ve been handing out business cards and such, trying to get word of mouth out. I’ve received some business, but ultimately I’d like for it to be my career. You gotta have dreams.

I have to say I miss New Paltz. Those four years were the best I’ve ever had.
I miss the dorm parties, the DDRing, the whole “having friends who live in a 5 foot radius.” I miss the true freedom. I miss the learning (in all aspects). I miss the no bills. I miss the large group lunches at Hasby.
I miss seeing so many of you
I would give anything for that time to be back, however, unfortunately, life must go on.
Now I know why some of you took a year or two longer to graduate. You, sirs and madams, are the true smart ones.

Anysone still here? [10 Jun 2008|08:21pm]
It's a tad hot.

[02 Aug 2006|06:41pm]
What the fuck, I'll update on this thing *wipes off layers of dust*

My post-college life is pretty busy. And by busy, I mean working ~50 hours a week, and doing work around the house.
Oddly, Home Depot has become my new Toys R Us or GameStop. I'm rarely on my computer any more.
In case you couldn't tell, I don't live with my parents any more. Well, officially I do, but I technically no longer live there. I still have great a great relationship with my parents, but life must progress.

In the weeks after graduation, I spent a week in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic as well as a few days in Niagara.

I got the results from my Court Officer exam, and I did quite well. Hopefully, it's only a matter of time before they call me.

Other than that, life is pretty good.

Advent [21 Sep 2005|03:31pm]
You know what I really hate? All this recent love for Final Fantasy 7, now that Advent Children came out.

Final Fantasy 7, when it came out, spurred MORE than it's share of fanboy-ism; mainly due to the fact that it was the first big-name RPG since videogames became 'cool,' 'geek cool,' or whathaveyou.
People loved this game, as did I; many claimed it to be the best game ever created. I have no problem with that.

Soon after (which pretty much means 1998, when FF8 came out), it was now 'cool' to hate what the mainstream loved (see: MTV; any other element of culture), FF7 was now a horrible game according to the majority of the internet community. I had no problem with that, it happens. People want to feel as if they are part of the 'underground.' Whatever is popular eventually becomes hated because of that.

So, I play through Final Fantasy 7 for the past 10 years, trying to analyze and understand the complex storyline. For the past 4 years I sat through rumors of a "FF7-2" and a "FF7 movie." And finally, my decade of waiting with baited breath was retired, I downloaded and watched Advent Children.

So, now enter this subculture of Anime (which typically intertwines with videogames, computers and the such) No disrespect to anime, as I enjoy it every now and them. However, they are bastardizing the francise that I hold dearly.
Everyone is downloading this movie and is like "OMG!" and other internet-lingo.
What really bothers me is that many of these people have no concept of the true story of this game, and many have never even played it.

It sickens me to see this happen.
I don't want to seem holier-than-thou, although this post reeks of it.

I mean, if you don't know what "Omnislash" and the role of the Turks is, and you rave about this film, I kill you; it's that simple.
It's repuslive.

[ mood | apathetic ]
[ music | Mariah Carey - Fantasy {Remix} ]

It's been about a month, so I figure I'd update. .... I'm still reading though.
What is new with my life? You know.... same shit, different day. People dying, people getting mugged....you know, everyday shit.
I always feel as though I need to vent my feelings on here, as I used to, however I feel like a child when I do so.
In the end it gives me a false sense of adulthood, but it all stays inside.

So, yea....if you want to know what's up...ask me.

Flesh-on-flesh crime [09 Jun 2005|10:32pm]
[ music | KMFDM - Flesh ]

http://www.nature.com/news/2005/050606/full/050606-4.html
According to studies, women can’t orgasm.
I’m sorry; I do as much as I can’t however I can only get around so much.
I’ve had the pleasure of displeasing more than my share of females, as I’m sure many can vouch.

While it’s probably not that they can’t orgasm, it’s they fact that they don’t. If you read it, the number is around 60%, which if you think of it logically, makes a great deal of sense.
I’m sure that most of my friends (especially the guys) know of the 10 scale. If you grade appropriately, there are equal numbers of each “rating”. But who honestly wants to fuck anything below a 6*? Not me. Not most guys
Generally guys want to fuck a 7 or higher. Guys who fuck 2s and 3s, generally don’t get much ass, therefore they do not know what they are doing, hence the lack of orgasms in a 2 or 3.
So this argument holds true. I’m sure 9s and 10s have little problem orgasming as do 1s and 2s.
The solution? Females on the ugly side should become un-ugly or carry a lot of free alcohol on them and give it to guys.

*(There however is an X factor which lowers general standards, which can be many things such as drugs / alcohol / depression, or a host of other reasons)

According to the article, pills are the answer.
I got a pill and it’s called Vitamin R.

Apparently “orgasming” isn’t a word. Quick, call Webster!

Overkill [24 May 2005|06:54pm]
[ music | Ozzy - Crazy Train ]

_ I have grown a severe distaste for livejournal, but I'm bored, so alas.

_ Right now, I'm still laid off. I was asked to work last Sunday, which I was happy for as I thought I was back before I was even laid off. Turns out I was just used for inventory purposes. Cocksuckers. According to my boss, I'll probably be back on Friday. However, I take this "news" with a grain of salt.

_ This morning I had an interview with a bank. As a part-timer, I work three 8 hour days, plus two Saturdays a month. Not too shabby. What I like is that there is much more room for growth than at my current job. Full-Time is available if I want it, and along with it comes many benefits (which included them paying FULL tuition) as well as health benefits. They also don't limit my hours, which I like. If my background check and references go through well, I'll be working at SI Bank & Trust in two weeks.

_ Between the two jobs, I'll do about 60 hours a week. And yes, I plan on working both on weekends during the semester (in 4 days, I'll do 50 hours)

_ So what if I drink when I'm bored? Rum and Coke is my new drink of choice. They just taste so good.

_ I hate people who think they're attractive, when they are fugly. It's like "NO!"

_ I finally joined a gym. There was only so much I can do in my basement. I love it and has more equipment than I could ask for. $200 for a full year. Not bad at all.

Back Then [17 May 2005|11:51pm]
So, I have finally completed my third, and easiest year of college.

I promised myself that I would go to each one of my finals drunk... and I completed that task. I was intoxicated for the past 48 hours straight, to some degree.
My last final was insanely easy. It began at 7:30 and I finished at 7:34.

So, as I posted (and later removed), I got laid off last Wednesday.
However, I am optimistic, as I am the first one on the call-back list. I also have highly egocentric and think that the world is my bitch, so I have no worries about getting a job with all the experience that I currently have.
Shit, I already have an interview next week at a bank on this Island. I can actully see myself working in a bank. If all goes well, Waldbaums will call me back and I will be working two jobs for the summer.

New music that I've been bumpin:
Theory of a Deadman: sounds like Nickelback, but without all the suck.
Mike Jones: Southern Rap, and has a nice gimmick of giving out his cell.

My Money Gets Jealous [02 May 2005|08:49pm]
[ music | Chamillionaire ]

LD (8:31:49 PM): you havent updated lj in so long.
Exits 718 (8:32:08 PM): I don't have anything to say that anyone wants to hear
Exits 718 (8:32:38 PM): Do you want me to talk about work?
LD (8:32:43 PM): okay

Last Wednesday, I got a call from one of my co-workers, telling me that the company started laying off employees. They did 15 full-timers that day, and supposedly, they were doing Part-Timers two days later, on Friday.
So, of course I wig out, as my seniority only goes from June 14, 2004. So, I skip my Thursday class, and go home to work a few hours so I can talk to my boss. I get there and I'm pissed as hell, and everyone could see that.
Friday came, and no word. They were supposed to come Monday (today). So, I skip my classes todayagain so I can be there. They didn't come.
I found out that they're doing it in two weeks, and that I'm #2 on the list. That means I probably won't be laid off, but there still is a good chance.
....and I'm missing my Thursday class again so I can work.

Be proud. Throught all this, I remained sober.

I threw around some applications incase shit hits the fan.

This semester has been a goddamned joke. I thought 16 upper-division credits would be hard, but it's like every other semester, a cakewalk.
I'm completely done for the semester expect for taking three final exams. All my final papers and projects are done.

I got a $290 tax refund check
Apparently, I owe the state $230 because Escort did not take out state taxes. Motherfucking New Paltz Temp service.

LD (8:33:32 PM): say

"Oh, I'm different. I'm not like other guys."
I recently heard one of my friends saying this hackneyed phrase to a girl, obviously while he was trying to get with her.
Everyone makes a point to try to prove themselves as “special.” Guys joke about their dick size, everyone tries to show off talents or “talents,” and I’m sure you can add in a few other things.
Although this is generally natural and seemingly human nature, it gets under my skin.
If someone is special or “different” in one form or another, there is no need to state it. If you are different (for better or for worse), people will take note whether you state it or not.
But who am I to judge? I’m just another guy.

Anyway, on another note, my spring break has been going pretty good. Not too much has happened, just work and chillin. It’s pretty much like every other week, except for the obvious lack of classes.

There is a bit of a feeling of accomplishment when your boss calls you and asks you to fill in for her.

I didn’t do too much for Easter. I worked from 8-4, then came home and had a family dinner. Not too extravagant, just my immediate family. I got to try lamb for the first time, and you know me and my meat; Of course I loved it and ate a good 2 lbs of it.

I had a few hours to myself this afternoon and went to the mall, DMV, and a bunch of various other tasks I’ve been putting away for months. It’s nice to have time to…you know… do more than work.

….Oh, and return props to Christina for starting a blog-type-thingy.

Part Three [21 Mar 2005|08:52pm]
...and to continue the day, I am quite sick.
In retrospect, I started at slightly ill in the morning to full out shitastic now.

I went to the doctor today and she did a throat culture to see if I have strep, and the results will come Thursday (hopefully).
As of right now, I have a very runny nose, serious sore throat, constant sneezing, swollen glands, and general lethargy.

...and I have to go to work now. God, I'm starting to hate Escort.
